Brief

This is a freelance project which I worked on together with Rachel Bryan, a photographer in cornwall who wanted help with her promotional book and a poster to advertise her work. She wanted the book layout to reflect the modern adaptation of the traditional fairytales and make sure that it was clear from the design that the book was made for adults and not children.

Solution

Both the Book and the poster uses a lot if white space to keep the focus on the colour photography. I used a traditional book font, 'Goudy old Style' to highlight the fact that this is a book aimed at adults. But the use of the font 'Beyond Wonderland' for the drop caps and part of the title sustains the fairytale theme throughout the book.The poster also illustrates some art deco prints which help emphasize the traditional theme of the photography and it also links together the copy on the poster.
